I am currently working with a private developer creating the interior design schemes for two houses and a chalet bungalow in Shoreham-By-Sea, Sussex. The three properties will be completed early 2019.

The design concept for the bungalow (named The Cottage) is all about Mindfulness.

A Mindfulness interior creates a ‘zen – like’ environment, helping to reduce the stresses of everyday life. The result is a calming and relaxing interior space.

The black framed glazed wall, alongside the abundance of windows and doors, allows the light to stream in, providing visual access to the outdoors. Natural light is essential for overall health and well-being.

The bright and airy rooms feel spacious, which is enhanced further by vaulted ceilings and chalky off-white paint, which is used throughout to create a harmonious feel. The black internal doors are Ledge and Brace adding a dynamic effect to the calming neutral look.

The soft white colour of the kitchen teamed with grey oak doors is combined with natural elements, such as the engineered wood floors that result in a sleek and luxurious finish.

The bathrooms are designed to promote relaxation, using durable, waterproof woven vinyl flooring in neutral colours and offset against darker, bold pieces. To complete this simple yet dramatic look, black matte finish vanity units and taps were added. To instill a calming ambiance the look was finished with statement lighting and clever storage options to avoid clutter.
